I'm taking Monday off specifically to go to the beach. Anyone have suggestions on which one to go to?

My parameters include: I want to also go shopping for my mythic sundress, so I'm hoping there's some boardwalk, but not necessarily as huge as Hampton. Also, I don't expect to actually swim. That would involve submersing my whole body in cold, murky, salty water. Ew. I'm much more into the sketch and read, build sandcastles, and walk next to the water looking for shells and cool rocks sort of thing.

Hm, you and I have the exact opposite taste in beaches, so I don't think my suggestions would be useful. :}

We love Nantasket Beach, in Hull. It's a delightful, mellow family beach without all the noise and partying of beaches like Revere. While it doesn't have a boardwalk proper, it does have a strip of little beachy stores and boutiques, and I bet your sundress is waiting there.

I like Nantasket Beach, too. In fact, I might actually be there. Haven't decided yet.

She has a couple of "walk and contemplate" beaches that are within reasonable driving distance.
