OK. I've been using PBWorks for our work wiki. They incorporated folders to organize the various stuff, except that you can't nest the folders. It's just one level. Well, I need to be able to go a bit deeper than that. At least this is what I've told our treasurer we can do. It doesn't appear that Wikispaces have any foldering option.

Anyone out there have a pointer to a wiki that can?

I think Mediawiki (the wiki behind Wikipedia) can--I used it that way extensively at my last job.

One heads up: My understanding of Mediawiki it's that it's a system you install on your own server rather than something that's run off a site on the web. There may be a site that's installed it and offers accounts to use it, but if so, I don't know of it. We (last company) ran it inside our firewall on our own servers.

We had similar issues with PBWorks when we investigated it; the featureset was a bit too complicated to deal with, and I wasn't a fan of the folder structure. Have you looked into Drupal's Book module? It comes with core, and it's fairly robust, although not the most elegant. It gives you the ability to sort pages in any heirarchy you need them, and there's a separate navigation that's automatically set up for books - and you can easily customize book pages to import files, etc. The only potential sticking point is that some of the files you have in the /sites/all/files folder are pretty large; we'd have to deal with the hosting company again to get the upload size larger than 30mb.

I can definitely understand that. Sometimes it's easy to think that things are easier than they are, you know?
