First:
Happy Birthday, quiet_elegance! I hope that you feel well soon, that a day at home does for you what you need and that the paintballing tomorrow is kick-ass :)

I put up the plastic on my windows here at work. For those of you who've not experienced my office, I'll describe.
There are 2 windows on the wall closest to my desk. Even in my platform, Frankenstein shoes, I have to go on tip-toe to affix the tape to the top perimeter while perched on the sill/ at the top of the step ladder. I realize that I'm short, but these are mutha-effin big windows. The width is such that I have to shuffle a bit to get the tape across; no standing in once place and affixing.
I really wore the right pants for the job: carpenter style jeans. Plenty of pockets and baggy enough that the fact that I had 4 tools to squirrel away did not cause discomfort.
my bone folder was extremely helpful for pressing the tape down, then later the plastic to the tape. The window framing has gotten a bit rough over the years and pressing with fingers would have probaby meant blood loss or splinters or both. I think I've avoided that, so I'm feeling like the clever bunny indeed.
quiet_elegance, procurer of window plastic kits, was kind enough to give me two sets... it turns out one has enough left over to cover the windows next year, too.
I can now sit at my desk without feeling the winds of Beacon Hill til my fingers are numb.

And! I remembered to cut slits at the top for the venetian blind controls to still be used. Very important. That is all.

Congratulations on getting those windows covered. And good job on not loosing any blood to the frames and sills.
