Day off with no rest
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I worked last Saturday, so I have today off- (woo!)
Stuff done:
read up on new health insurance. Some. I still am somewhat mystified :P
sorted a bit of the kitchen table mess
started laundry
put away winter wear (scarves and stuff)
emptied dishwasher, refilled with waiting dirty implements
put away stuff on counter
did dishes
went through kitchen shelves to remove things I don't think we're keeping. Anyone need a vase or 3?
CD project revisited* -- A-Co completed.
I have had some lunch (it was lame). I did sleep in some and took a bath. I have a book I'd like to keep reading. There's also Cook's Illustrateds to go through to figure out what new thing might get cooked, particularly if it requires really big tomatoes- (produce of the month are insanely large tomatoes- not a kind I normally eat in any way. Sauce? Probably)
*CD Project: I have 2 CD books that have 200 slots. I used to use these in college when space was very valuable. Then I moved into a regular house and wanted to be able to see what I had. Now the hard copy is mostly backup, not my go-to when it's time to listen to music. The current books have been arranged with the disk on one side and the jacket on the opposite side of the page. This means fewer than 100 disks per book since I will leave spaces for expansion. I estimate I have more than 200 left to go, so it's in my best interest to compact the 2 existing ones before I start in on those that are still in jewel cases. It flies against my very own advice given just yesterday to my intern that sometimes you just have to get it done. I also know that if I don't take time to start from the beginning, there will be seriously weird gaps and I may not get around to fixing this later. If I hold the still-in-box CDs hostage by compacting, I have a chance of Doing This Right. Hostage because I am entirely inclined to have the transition completed before we move. Good thing I can multi-task while I do this because there's always some TV to watch (or partially watch in this case). Hi, welcome to the wonderful world of persnickety archive behavior! The thing is, I know I'm the only one who cares.

Just a week ago I carefully counted the discs (31) in my Complete National Geographic on CD-ROM set (which comes in a vaguely pretty but really too large set of cardboard sleeves), and went to Best Buy to get a 32-disc CD book for them to live in. Then I transferred them into the much-smaller book and threw out the cardboard!
MUST ECONOMIZE ON SPACE.

Ah well. I will keep the hard copy as long as I can. That's just how I roll. Or spin, as the case may be.

Thanks!
