Yeah, still here

I'm definitely making use of the Limited Spoon metaphor. This post will be a bunch of short bursts

• I've used up most of my spoons tonight fooling around with baby pictures in Flickr
• My parents arrive Thursday
• Took a walk to the end fo the block (mzkero was right- it was too much)
• QE and I took CrimeFighter to his 1 week doc visit
• Had an iced latte for the first time in ... well, weeks? At least 1.5. Maybe that's why I'm still up and 'lert.
• Had visitors bring me awesome food the past few days- too many to list here/not enough spoons. All appreciated. lifecollage and asciikitty are sorting this aspect of my care if you wanted to contribute. They are smart and have a list of Other Things, Not Food, too.
• I've been reminded by the retelling that the birth story is possibly more remarkable than the average woman's. I will make a further effort to write it out, but it might be Not For Internet Publication.
• I'm working on the adjustment of: I'm not a 9-5 office dweller for the next few months. If that means eating dinner at random hours, staying up late and sleeping in? OK. S'long as I'm healing myself and feeding the child, the rest is a bonus. (I've been told repeatedly that everything else must be allocated... fiiiine, says the independent amazonian warrior princess)
• I'm looking forward to situations that provide me the opportunity to talk about something other than kid-stuff. That's hard to do when walking to the end of the block is the highlight of my day. In the meantime, I have a lot of posts I'd like to do about my latest baby triumphs, but....

OK. Tired. Sleep. Spoons gone.

I believe the line for helping hands at that party will be as long as you need it to be. Just sayin' - you may not have to move from your chair except to pee.

The end of the block will eventually become manageable. And then longer and longer trips will happen. In the meantime, talk about babies all the time. We are happy to listen, and will be happy to talk about other stuff when the time comes. Keep drinking lots of water and eating as much as you can in between catching some sleep.
