Getting on
I've had some good responses to my previous request about kid-care, which is a relief. Mind you, my brain inevitably chooses to fixate on the the worst case scenario, which has me spending, no really, all my take home pay on child care. However, I have to point out to the hysterical part of my brain that this is not what my normal week will be. We have a solid mix of regulars lined up. 2 of the 4 are not asking for cash-money. 1 of the remaining 2 is bartering QE's carpentry in exchange for watching Crime Fighter. That makes this almost bearable. The ant brain does keep muttering, though. I may feel better after QE has a day gig, not just the random teaching gig- which is definitely better than nothing and much much better than unemployment.
I'm looking forward to an hour or so of socializing with a local chapter of the Moms Brigade in a few hours, coworker R hanging out and doing baking things later in the afternoon, dinner with QE- belated anniversary- and more particularly: seeing Chef Sang at long last in his new digs. There's a plan to socialize tomorrow night and the expectation of epic cooking over the weekend in preparation for the return to normal 9-5 schedule.
Fun new baby tricks: major improvement on head control, the realization that those things waving around are feet and that they're attached to the end of his legs. Woah! Yesterday or the day before he realized he could start projecting happy squeaky noises.
entrope's observation is that Crime Fighter is really good at engaging with his surroundings, and that when he gets over stimulated, he makes a point of disengaging. ... Yeah, sez I? What a smart baby!

I can't pretend I understand the anxiety over childcare, but hey! In a few months, hopefully you'll gain a buddy in understanding! :D
Maybe in December I can babysit an evening or two, to give you guys some time for a I dunno date?

*SMILE*
Hope to see you this weekend, and good luck next week.

Epic cooking is epic
Just saw the latest vid, OMG cute, again, as usual.
I probably didn't specify in my first response but I'm not going to be looking for compensation if you need to call me in for kid stuff.
Re: Epic cooking is epic
And thanks for the clarification on kid stuff. That's sweet :)
