Three Months!

Our young Crime Fighter is officially out of the "4th Trimester" and has been impressing his fan club with all sorts of awesome tricks.

• • He's squeaking and working on proto-speech so much more: it's crazy-adorable. 
  • The Baby in the Mirror is his best bud and he never fails to smile at him when we remind him he's in there. And look coy. 
  • Over the weekend, he rolled over for the first time, but I have not seen a repeat. It's a start! I'd been really bad about tummy time because he complained horribly about it, but as the experts pointed out, the complaining lessens the stronger he gets. True! 
  • purple_terror makes sure he practices his Flying Baby routine on a regular basis
  • Hair and jewelry are officially in danger, for the grip and eye-hand coordination are coming along. It also means he's holding onto blankets more and- joy- to us! I love the Koala mode. 
  • His field of vision is much, much deeper now. He knows there's a screen across the room or across the desk and is fascinated by the moving objects. 
  • We are working on more routine, so we have established an 8:00 bedtime, which has been mostly working. 
  • It's his second week now of babysitting rather than all mom all the time. Reports so far are he's doing exceptionally well. 
  • He's already having issues with 6 month clothes being too short! I may have to rejigger the timeline of when he is taller than his mama. It may be closer to 2 years old, not 6 ;) 

Love that kid. Best. Kid. Ever. (I will fight you!)
I'd write more, but time to go see said child at home.

Xander has discovered my hair, too, and grabs at it with a grip like unto death. Whee...he also likes to grab noses, lips, and glasses. I am not tempting fate with earrings. :-}

Indeed. I tried earrings and a heavy necklace (leather instead of chain) the first few days of work... Or not. Bad idea.
