Tropes for the fail

I was watching Warehouse 13 at lunch and in it we had Dire Situation in which things are about to go critical.

Claudia drops her tool belt and starts to extricate sticky gears. Gets stuck. Myka comes in to help, gets stuck. They yell for Pete to save the day, which he does. Claudia's smart enough to hack the warehouse mainframe, but not smart enough to leave her goddamn tool belt on OR failing that, remember she had just been wearing it, and maybe a solution to her dire situation would be in said belt, rather than whining and sliding towards her doom. 

This trope, I do not love. Needless drama to act as a bonding moment. I think they could have managed with at least Claudia realizing what needed to happen to save the day, but needing extra hands to make that happen. Grump grump grump.

TLDR lazy writing pisses me off.

That is very lazy writing. And notice that it's women needing to be rescued by a man. Sexist on top of lazy.

Ok, because I tend to be acronym poor, I had to look up TLDR. However, because of what I do, I got "Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation."

Yeah.
