asciikitty s on Crime Fighter patrol on Wednesdays and she reported the following:

1. CF successfully found a tea bag wrapper left on the counter, and threw it away. Of course he was praised for this

2. She then locked the trash bin so that random objects would not make it in there, for she knows the ways of toddlers.

3. CF then spilled water on the floor deliberately, then helped wipe it up so he could throw away the paper towel.

This feeds into the child-scientist thing that This American Life talked about on a reposted episode lately. Please let him only use his powers for good...

(Meta: and today is the first "kid!" tag, rather than "baby!" to be employed, for this is kid behavior.)

I am totally amused by the kid behavior in which they are rewarded for something and then spend HOURS trying to figure out or replicate the thing they were rewarded for doing. Usually to the mortification of the adults around them.

But, hey, at least it was water...

I REALLY REALLY REALLY didn't want him to start throwing away things we'd like, because... oh man. No. In the process of determining that no really, the trash can is locked, he took down the baby gate that it sits on the other side of.

Oh, I left that bit out yesterday, didn't I. It was between the water incidents.

Ours just broke the kid locks, which were plastic anyway...

That's why he has the baby gate AND the locked trash can. He's not tall enough to reach over the gate to break the lock yet.

(oh lord. I have 200% MORE grey hair than I did this time last year. (ok, not NOW, because i just dyed it, but a week ago.))
