It's been two weeks of school so far. To date, we've had two accident reports: one banged up arm, one scratched nose. Crime Fighter's teachers report he has no sense of boundaries as far as they can tell. He is very fond of hugging and kissing many of his classmates. So far all girls. There have also been some reports about his ability to hold hands, which made me wonder who this pod-person was, as he's always been a cat-on-a-leash with me on that point. Then Friday he decided to do some Gandhi levels of passive resistance... in the middle of Mass. Ave. Ugh. As requested, we did some practice hand-holding this weekends. Yesterday morning he decided it was time for "Ghoo", grabbed his bag and headed for the front door. He also actually said "Bye bye," which he'd not done to date. He preferred to only wave.
New words this week-
apple
uncle
school
bye
shoes

We'd like to see him add thank you and all done to this list.  He seems to become selectively mute when asked to say such things.

Impressively, he still remembers watching Phineas and Ferb on [livejournal.com profile] fubar's phone at the school yard where we often play, as he makes Perry the Platypus noises whenever we go past the bench where that tv party happened. Scary. Today I added Loony Toons to the options for entertainment. The sketches are usually about 6 min. long, which is about right.

It's sort of a tru-ism

School, and peer play, stimulates kids' brains in all sorts of unpredictable ways.

Yay for new words, and for enjoying school!

Bump, amazingly, is starting to learn "all done" already. Still very early yet, but she's made the sign twice, and last night she yelled "ah dah!" as she threw her hands up at the end of dinner. It was the cutest thing ever.

Phineas and Ferb is terrific. If you have an iPad or something similar, there are some cute kids books and apps I can point you too.
