Ok, it's only been a week.
It feels like it's been a lot longer since I posted.
I'm currently avoiding work. At least I've done something already today! The most recent batch of auto/bio discards were sent off to their new home a few blocks over. The process of re-packing them flat, getting em to the alley entrance in the basement and then loaded into the bookstore's van was done in record time. Go us!
Work is definitely on the frenetic side of things.
I successfully wrapped up Outreach stuff for A. 9 disks of Word docs and email/txt files. I'm pretty glad to get that cleared away. I told her to just roll and not worry about deferring to me anymore. Because (everyone sing along!) "I- Don't- Care!" I find it interesting that it was about a year ago that I really felt the pangs of "IDC" outweigh the caring. So, go me for hacking it this long. I've even done stuff over the past few months.
While the boys went off to get filthy at the paintball field, I hung out w/ cool folk, ate good food, and chatted a lot. I had enough time after to try to take my bike out for its first spring run, only to find it misbehaving- the chain kept slipping off between gears. After a few rounds of wrestling with a nasty, greasy, icky chain (I love rubber gloves), I punted and took it in to srl since he works at a local bikeshop on Sundays. Yay! I love taking in stuff to folk I know. Hm. Mebbe tomorrow they'll call. Not that it's no longer time-sensitive w/ it being cold again. At least now it'll be ready to roll when it does warm up again. And the professionals will be putting an extender for the handlebars so maybe this time my hands won't go to sleep after half an hour :P
I took off Friday for a doc appt. For a good part of last year, I was under the impression we'd be looking for a new house by this point, so why bother trying to find a local doctor? Well, now that we're sticking around for a while longer, time to find someone who knows hir stuff re: birth control options. As my family can attest: the latest version I've been on for about half a year really really sucks. Doc K. confirmed that it's not just in my head: Zovia is known to be a problem child perscrip. He hooked me up with one many of his patients like. I'll get to start that at the end of the month. Yay!!! Better living through chemistry, baby. I'm visiting my new PCP next Thursday- in the same building as Dr. K, which is handy. MGH Downtown may be very convenient to work, but loses all its benefit when I can't get a frickin' appointment within reason. Or at least I assume this is still the case as it was the last time I tried to go there late last year. Dorks.
I'm still trying to stick to the don't go out more than 2 times during the work week. I got to spend time with Caulay last night and I see Dr. Gray tomorrow-
Next week will be busy. I'm watching the Gray/mmeblue kidlets on Tuesday, more family stuff Wed., then the Dr. appointment Thursday (I'm being smart and taking the whole day off so as not to be rushed) and Friday I am just taking off because nyah! I can!
I've been metaphorically tearing through Tamora Pierce's Immortal series. It's fantastic, but I've always loved her work. I'm rereading the Sam Jones mystery series as a backup. Unfortunately, I'll be done with the 4th Immortal book by tomorrow. Does anyone have any suggestions? I usually prefer fiction and dislike over-done exposition (like Anne Bishop) or wilting flower female characters. Grrrls are more fun. So, if anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Thanks!
