Empathy, thy name is Crime Fighter
Crime Fighter and I went to a cookout on Saturday. He was fine, til he saw how many strange adults were milling about, and he got shy fast. Of course, folks wanted to come up and say hi. Nope. Not having none of it. And here's the notable: He said "I'm feeling a little nervous,"... to at least 2 maybe 3 adults. I had to translate since he was speaking at decibels to be heard only by rabbits. And moms. But when
gosling and
ceo 's youngest materialized, suddenly whew... That's OK then. A little while later, a 5ish year old arrived and she was having a really tough time, too. What did Crime Fighter do? hung out near by, demonstrated how fun the toy airplane was and eventually she lost her nervous, too. So proud of that kid.

He was awesome
Somehow we ended up with a small sack of plastic toys intended for Crime Fighter, apparently left behind? I'm not clear on the details at this end of the phone-tag chain but it's for you whenever we can get it to you.

Sure, there's plenty nature among the nurture. But IME it's the nurture that lets the nature be what it will.
Also? YAY CRIMEFIGHTER FOR USING HIS WORDS. Some of us are still learning that skill.
Seriously, though-- thanks.
Why are you looking at me that way... what? IDONTKNOWWHATYOU'RETALKINGABOUT!
