MiL weekend, 4/5ths over

Let's see... Now that things have calmed the hell down---

It all started with an unfinished bed and an unstarting truck on Friday. The truck has had a history of not starting on the first try for about 3 or more years now, but this was not the day to not start. No way in hell was I going to go to Logan- at rush hour- in an unreliable beast. Enterprise has a weekend deal for 30 bucks, though. Whew. Cute little 4-door Chevrolet.
quiet_elegance finished the bed he started on Thursday, gave up his good hair cut appointment for a quicker, closer one in Lexington [warning to the short haired people who may choose a salon in Lexington: Eccoli can't cut hair to save their life] and finished his bit of the house cleaning while I....

I left later than I should have to go to the airport- got stuck in heinous traffic on the lower deck of 93 and more than half way there was told my MiL had not left Dulles. What?! Fine, fuckit. No way I'm turning around, so I had a burger (a bad one at that) at Sam Adam's, bought a book I have no intention of reading more of, and eventually she showed 3 hours later.

Saturday went well- The National Heritage Museum (in lexington and free) had some interesting exhibits. In the afternoon, MiL and I went to the mall to use my Aveda certificate (thanks again ahf) and my lost property check (what was a gift certificate miraculously turned into a regular old check. Yahoo :)

My mom called from Pittsburgh that afternoon (she usually calls from Ohio, you see) to let me know how the clean out Grammy's apartment was going. Grammy has always been a bit of a packrat. I was asked (jokingly) if I needed any vases, baskets, glass jars with metal lids, or pamphlets of any feminist kind. I think Mom is actually going to send some of the pamphlets just to give me a glimpse, if you will.

Q_E got the call he had been waiting for from the new boss- Yes, indeed, they want him. They still have to call him back with when they want him to start, but hey. They want him. I have to quit planning all our future vacations at once, though. Silly rabbit.

Today was go to the aquarium day. That was fun. Looked at everything, avoided tromping on the million tourists, watched the penguins boff. Had fish n' chips at Legal after (very much needed). Tonight: purple_terror's steak. I've now been to 3 museums in one week (MFA last Sunday to see Gauguin with Caulay being the other). I do want to do more of that, but next time maybe not so close together.

I would guess so, given the salon's name is one letter (and one hyphen) off from a disease that makes your intestines bleed.
