Posting because life seems good today
... rather than because I'm cranky and need to bitch. Woo!
I managed to hit the right balance of nutrient intake and I feel very alert and -finally- ready to work.
I still love Pat Benetar. She does a great job making the day cheerier- and I was already in a good mood.
What group is your comfort music? I have lots, but Ani, Indigo Girls, and Pat Benetar reign. Oh, and BNL will frequently make me smile involuntarily.

aerosmith, boston, davinci's notebook, no doubt, oingo boingo, TMBG, and just about anything bluesy (clapton, SRV, bb king) so long as it has a killer lead guitar :)

As for music, BNL works pretty well for me, as does Fleetwood Mac and (early) Tori Amos.

Beatles, Garth Brooks, Uncle Bonsai, Indigo Girls, Jewel, Dixie Chicks, Melissa Etheridge -- not in any particular order. And, really, almost any classic-rock or "music of the 70s and 80s" station will often do the trick :)

Joni Mitchell's Blue always makes me happy, too. And Indigo Girls can be counted on to get me singing. Moxy Fruvous, of course. Sometimes Dar Williams. Ani Difranco usually makes me nostalgic, often for times I was lonely or ripshit mad and played her, so I find she's not such good happy-place listening.

Ya gotta love it when James cranks out the "So Fucking what?!?"
I would kill for an Amy Kay 80's dance mix :)

Comfort Music
Spyro Gyra.
Marillion. The early stuff fronted by Fish (not Phish).
The B-52s.
Psychedelic Furs.
And there are days, warm sunny days, when the proper attitude towards life requires speakers placed out the window and Tom Petty and/or Bruce Springsteen blasting just under distortion volume. Even the losers get lucky sometimes.

Comfort music... depends on what kind of comfort I actually need. :) I'm gonna have to go with Miles Davis. Or maybe, uh... Extreme.

Uh... damn. That qualifies as really fucking cool!
Sorry we missed you tonight
I agree with all you mentioned
I also, ever so occasionally, will rock out to Neil Diamond. I can admit it.
