"Intense Orange" by Lindt. Good for helping swill the last of the coffee.
Thanksgiving was good. Camden crew fun as usual. It'll be entertaining when my parents meet
purple_terror's family this $winterholiday. No, really, I think it'll be a good thing- no sarcasm this time.
I've been crafting craftiness every spare second I can get. I finished a fantastic project last night involving beads and brass wire. Not bad for my first attempt. No idea who I'll give it to, though. (Yes, I was planning on it being a gift for someone... and who am I talking to and how do I make my voice do this?) I have to at least remember to take a picture of it before it goes elsewhere.
I'm very very very amused at the influx of new knitters. At Diesel, I talked to 3 people who'd just learned within the past month (or less) how to knit. I feel like I'm so old school with my 8 years experience. It's also extremely interesting to note that all of us are using chinchilla. It's this years' chenille I guess. For what it's worth, I don't think they were even offering chincilla in the Average Craft Store last year.
On the work front: this is the first week sans associate librarian. We have approximately 6 applicants so far and some of them look to be relatively likely. Some are just too young and not enough management experience, I think. I sure as shit don't want some kid straight out of library school to take this job. That would not be OK. It would make me wonder why the hell I'm still here, yaknow?
At long last, the server that was theoretically going to break at any second is being replaced tomorrow, which means we all get to find non-computer work to do. All my work docs are stored on that server. If they .... no. Not even going to say out loud the badness that theoretically could be if they screw up. It was bad enough when my C drive went byebye.
I'm very much looking forward to the eating of the dim sum and the watching of the epic movie (Alexander) with the co-worker tonight.
Oh yeah! I met
coraline last night at Diesel. There was some exclamation of our never meeting officially before now, given the overlapping social ties. It was very amusing, I must say: we saw each other and pointed meaningfully at each other, "ah! you!" Is good. We determined that the gothy black dress truly must have been built for her. Yay!

That's actually weirder, the rare times it happens, than finding out two seemingly-unconnected people know each other. It happened to me once in YRUU, where two women who were good friends of mine came to a party and turned out never to have met each other, leaving me and the host, who had also known them both well for years, completely flabbergasted. On further thought, we realized that they had tended to go to almost entirely disjoint sets of conferences (we had a lot of small ones here in in New England).
