really odd dream
Riding my motorcycle in the wrong sort of clothes: no jacket, no helmet, sandles. It turned into a vespa, which made it somehow a little less bad. At the very least I knew deep down this wasn't my bike. The last bit I remember was discovering 2 secret compartments- one under the seat that was semi-open. The other was inside the seat itself and was the size of a small boat cabin. I fit myself in to look at all the cool stuff: 2 half helmets, a blue tarp, a coated cable that you use with a lock to secure the bike, and further in, a 70s style kitchenette.
I stopped for a moment to look out from my new bolt-hole to see a different place than where I started. Melanie Griffith was outside. I called to her and told her how cool all this was. She sort of went with it and congratulated me on my find. Then when I was back inside, was there and we opened up the small fridge together. It was a mistake. It also was a wee bit bigger on the inside from the outside. It was havisham-like inside. Milk cartons and all and for some ungoldly reason, Cat was touching these things. That's pretty much where Cat's part ended. I knew we weren't supposed to look inside and I also saw a revolver in there (I belive that this had nothing to do with her at all and for all I know she was really a familiar metamorphose from Melanie Griffith)- however, I didn't want to touch the weapon, with the dream knowledge that it was not going to come from any good. The top of the fridge showed a black man and woman, he in long graying dreadlocks. This used to be his bike/boat/thing. I've already lost the connecting piece here, but the last part I remember is this man in danger from some other men. First guy must have known something dangerous? He jumps into a reedy patch of water to escape him in the movie device hope that their guns will have no effect on him once he's there. I am watching from below him in the water, which adds to the movie quality. I want to tell him "at least 3 feet down"- that seemed to be the magical number Mythbusters found for actually escaping bullets, but not sure if that worked for handguns. But at least he started to swim away and while I didn't get to watch the finale, I think he made it if only he could hold his breath for as long as they do in movies.
No idea what all that means, other than reading Misfortune (by Wesley Stace) and before that Wings of a Dove on DVD = too much angst before bed.
