I just got an invitation through classmates.com for my 10th high school reunion. I've known this was coming. I've spent a great deal of time pondering the big events of 10 years ago: graduation, starting to date The Ex... all that and a bag of chips.
Now the decision has come. It's on September 13th back Home. It's early enough in the invite, that I have no idea who may or may not be there.
I had a graduating class of around 900. It could easily be that nobody I knew and liked will show up. Lots of my friends were in other grades, so won't be there.
High school wasn't as traumatic as say, jr. high, but still not the best time of my life.
However, I'm doing very well with myself- happy with my relationships, job, hobbies, and social life. What I'd give to be able to ride a motorcycle up to the party (if only I had one available in Ohio)... Anyway, I'm obviously going a mile a minute. What do you all think?

Can you add a "maybe" option? That would be my answer.

Maybe....if you think that you would have fun at it as an event. Also, would you bring anyone and would they have fun? I believe you heard the horror story that was my sweetie's experience at my 10th reunion. I suggest going by yourself, unless you know for sure that the other person would enjoy the experience.

Who in their right mind would want to hang out with people they don't know and won't have any more interaction with after that weekend is over?

Someone so amazingly in love with his sweetie that he does what she asks, even when he knows better.

900??? Holy Cow!! That was like, the size of my college graduating class. HS was 300 and I thought that was big. I can't imagine going to a HS with more than 2500 students. I guess I like the cross between knowing enough people for intimacy and still enough variety.

My 10 yr is in November, probably around Thanksgiving. (The timing actually makes it more difficult to decide, because I know I WILL be in DC for Thanksgiving). I'm very strongly leaning toward NOT going, mostly because I went to the 5 year and was annoyed at how people settled into the cliques they had in HS and acted the way they did in HS. It was like a reality based Romy and Michelle's HS Reunion. Bleah.

Just like my class

As I said in the poll. My class is so slack ours is next weekend. I'm not going. It's at Headlands and $35 a person. :P

I decided the only people from my class would have been that small select group of preps who I punked out (e-mail me if you can't figure out who I'm referencing) and out of 750 the likelihood of those 6 would be small.

But if you do come let me know. We'll at least have to have a drink together.

As far as I know my class has never had a reunion unless it's just that I've not been invited. I graduated in 1986.

Why not ride there?

So, why not take a vacation and make it a road trip? You can ride and camp out (or stay at hotels, if that's more your style). I'd say only go if you think you'll have fun, though.
