Reading comprehension is SO desirable. I cannot stress this enough.

What's your current pet peeve of the day/week/lifetime? (pick one time frame that fits for this query)

ETA: person who offended me is now offending me further by quibbling over the cost of service he has requested. $3 vs $1 ... Really?!  I have things I am not willing to commit to a public forum that I'd like to say on this point.

[Poll #1670130]Simple as that. Obviously some details will spill into normal posts, but this Thing That Is New To Me will feel more noteworthy than kind of a lot of stuff. When I say "details"-  I maintain the notion that I won't be sharing such horrible bodily functions that would make, say, my father wince. He's not keen on hearing such things, so I keep that in mind when writing about health/medical. It's the rule that is paired with the one where if I can't tell my mom, I probably won't say it here.  I also understand that this, like weddings, is not a universally interesting topic.

The next post on this topic will probably mention food and emotional delicacy, for example. Possibly about knitting and art projects.

The trash bags of discarded but useful clothing coupled with my huge ennui regarding my wardrobe leads me to the general community query of: clothing swap time?[Poll #1445040][Poll #1445040]

I was having lunch with R., as usual, and I mildly scolded myself (out loud) for putting my orange in the fridge. I don't like cold oranges. I also don't like cold pineapple as much as room temperature. But, watermelon must be chilled to be tastiest.  I surmised that this foible makes me a bit strange. R. replied that it's not remotely the strangest thing, though.

So! Now I'm curious:
What, dear friends, do you think is the strangest thing about me?

And strange is not equal to bad/wrong/needs to be changed. Obviously. We are a people who embrace the strange. (Yes, I'd like a hug, why do you ask?)

In other news, I lost all of yesterday to The Yearly Confessional [livejournal.com profile] aroraborealis  hosts. Much of today, too, but not to the same degree. Can't... look... away... trainwreck!  Also, because of my spectating and (non anon) commenting, I have Jonathan Coulton's Soft Rocked By Me stuck in my head. D'oh.

I'm going to get my hair cut tomorrow. However, I have not decided to what degree to cut it. I was plagued by dreams about having long hair for weeks until I told my brain "fine. I'll grow it out." The reality of it is, though, that I like my short hair. It's cute, it's mod, it does all those non-verbal cue things that I had missed when I had long hair. But I miss the long hair. I'm not certain I have the patience to wait for it to grow out. It will take a bare min. of a year and half for it to look remotely good- and motorcycle season is not grow-hair-out friendly even a little. So by 1pm tomorrow, I have to decide what to tell my DHR boy: clean it up but leave it to grow out or give me that totally hawt haircut you have me last time. [Poll #1108261][Poll #1108261]

I've been very careful to only get embroiled in ICQ, but I'm reconsidering... But I want to be precise.

Because I have a fair bit of purple scottish wool I *can't* use (too itchy) I want to find a new home for it. I also have other things I expect I don't want. I bet I'm not the only one out here who has a similar problem!
Solution:

I'm sure I've forgotten something, but them's the basics.
EDIT: Hey, I thought of an addendum already! I expect there will be orphan yarn at the end of this. What should I/we do with it? Comment if you have any groovy ideas

The only 2 things I cared about in my visor was my book list and my contacts list. The latter was very easy to fix up. The former, impossible. So, if my kind friends wish to weigh in here, please do. A poll for your convenience and anon. comments allowable for a certain gray gentleman. -- leastways, I think it's allowable!

The Goal: create thoughtful, interesting, hopefully useful presents that are relatively not gender specific that I can make myself over the span of the next month. If not useful, at least pretty and arty without being entirely a dust catcher

Previous present types- clay-based (fairies/butterflies, decorated votive holders), knitted objects, framed art, unique cards. (What am I missing?)

I do have a few ideas, but nothing that makes me shout "Eureka!" as such. I'd be happy to hear from the peanut gallery on this one.

I just got an invitation through classmates.com for my 10th high school reunion. I've known this was coming. I've spent a great deal of time pondering the big events of 10 years ago: graduation, starting to date The Ex... all that and a bag of chips.
Now the decision has come. It's on September 13th back Home. It's early enough in the invite, that I have no idea who may or may not be there.
I had a graduating class of around 900. It could easily be that nobody I knew and liked will show up. Lots of my friends were in other grades, so won't be there.
High school wasn't as traumatic as say, jr. high, but still not the best time of my life.
However, I'm doing very well with myself- happy with my relationships, job, hobbies, and social life. What I'd give to be able to ride a motorcycle up to the party (if only I had one available in Ohio)... Anyway, I'm obviously going a mile a minute. What do you all think?
