Reading comprehension is SO desirable. I cannot stress this enough.

What's your current pet peeve of the day/week/lifetime? (pick one time frame that fits for this query)

ETA: person who offended me is now offending me further by quibbling over the cost of service he has requested. $3 vs $1 ... Really?!  I have things I am not willing to commit to a public forum that I'd like to say on this point.

This year - People who really don't appreciate what they have.

(for some fairly obvious reasons)

:(

Not even given Special Circumstances, I find this to be a serious dealbreaker in personal interactions. Just... arrrrrrrgggh.

My pet peeve of the week is the failure to directly answer an either this or that question. Example: "Should I sign here or there?" "Well, if you wanted to sign here, that might be ok, but if you signed there, that might also be ok"

If you don't know, just say "I don't know".

When someone uses "loose" instead of "lose." For example: "I want to loose weight."

Oddly enough, I was about to post this in my LJ when I saw your post :-)

Comma and semicolon misuse! Also, inability to properly drive a rotary.

Recently? People who insist that Domino's Pizza supports pro-life causes. Which hasn't been true for 13 years, and wasn't strictly true back then, either. (http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/dominos.asp)

Coworkers who interrupt my day with questions when they've made absolutely no attempt to find the answer on their own. Or who whine that they can't possibly do the thing that everybody else is making time to do because their job is so obviously harder than everyone else's.

*grr*

Oooh, this.

98% of my current job consists of equal parts keeping track of all of the work that other people aren't doing, and fixing the same mistakes that the same people make every day. That would make my professional life an utterly meaningless existence in an organization completely devoid of any Give A Shit whatsoever, if it did not also enable the other 2%, which is knowing what actually needs to be done, and then, doing that.

So I spend about seven hours and forty-five minutes each day, preparing for the fifteen minutes when someone will need me to know the right answer. And I always do, but man, is it ever a huge pain in the ass to get there.

Drivers who think bikers don't belong on the roads, and attempt to convey this message by honking, yelling, or driving really fricking close to left handlebars.

In no particular order:

Being sick.

Insensitive idiots that I thought were friends.

That moment before I finally recognize that yes, I am actually on target towards The Big Deadline - when I'm still stuck in thinking that I have no idea how I'm going to get it done.
