After the emotional day I had yesterday, I'm seriously considering jumping ship on my current BC and start the new formula after this pack is up ... begins with a D but can't read the N.P.'s handwriting (laugh).

Despite all, I managed to keep some sort of grasp on my composure yesterday. Went to Tasca with the Fam for Milknut's bday (Luffluff!), then to Harvard Sq's Finale for very very excellent dessert. I chose the something or other mousse with the blackberry and brandy sorbet- they gave Milknut a creme brule for her bday dessert, which I helped eat some of.

The new monitor works, so quiet_elegance played shootemups til the wee hours. Hell, didn't even hear him come in to bed!

I'm reading Riding Shotgun by Rita Mae Brown, and so far I'm entranced. Yay good books!

A final and rare political moment: if you're feeling like it, check out Howard Dean's site. I refuse to spam my friends with forwarded emails no matter who is urging me to "pass it on." So, I choose to say look if you care here :) Otherwise, pretend this last paragraph isn't here.

I hadn't realized you'd switched your position. When I stumped for Dean in my own journal, you seemed to think Dean wasn't going to be able to carry enough backing to unseat Bush. Glad to see you on our side. :)

*hugs*

It's not that I thought that, it's just that I wasn't sure. Come to think of it, I'm still not sure, so I guess my position really hasn't changed that much. But I'm not sure about the other candidates, either, and I worry that the darlings of the Democratic establishment might have the same sorts of problems that Gore had in 2000 in connecting with the electorate. Dean has something different about him, and having gotten more familiar with him, I think the sort of middle-of-the-road, not very into politics people who voted for Bush despite not really agreeing with his positions might vote for Dean (again, even if they don't particularly agree with his positions). But it's way too early to tell for sure.

It does concern me a bit that the Republicans seem to think that Dean is the opponent they want, but I'd like to see them surprised.

As I said (in your journal as well as here), though, I'll gladly pull the lever next to "Anybody but Bush".
