Ok. I just listened to the NPR 7am podcast (all of 4:46 long). It makes me wonder why I get out of bed in the morning.

So with that in mind: tell me something good that's happening either in the world or to you. Or both.

I appear to have successfully convinced the majority of my family that it would be fun and cool to do charitable giving this year instead of lots of presents. We are shooting low on Maslow's heirarchy.

Also, every morning when the alarm goes off, the small black cat jumps on the bed and comes to knead my shoulder, purring like a bandsaw.

Silly story time.

My cat and I have this game. I call it "search and rescue". I bury myself under the blankets on the bed, and I call to her...."Miss Cleo, find Mommy!" She hops up on the bed and stars pawing at the covers here and there, and I keep calling to her until she figures out a way to get underneath and "find" me. Then I congratulate her on being "little miss search and rescue", and give her lots of scritches. She purrs the entire time she's trying to find me, and is thrilled once she gets under the covers to get her scritches.

We played that this morning. It's so funny to have her climbing all over me trying to find a way in. She's pretty smart. I haven't totally thwarted her yet.

I have a stash of brightly colored plus size cardigans coming to me. This may not sound impressive, but I've been hunting for cardis that go around my boobs and aren't a bazillion dollars. I FINALLY SUCCEEDED YAY!!

My brother's wife is someone who I would want to be BFFs with.

Electric blankets are really nice when it's cold.

Pygment got a pretty decent diagnosis back from the doc. Even though she'll be in and out of the brace for months while it heals, she still can be OUT of the brace much of the time. No surgery, no hard cast. So that's very good.
