mizarchivist: (Let's Dance)

A few months ago I did some play testing at Harmonix. I thought, hey, cool. I like playing Rock Band, that'll be fun.

Except it wasn't Rock Band. It's called Dance Central (hey, like Central Sq. where Harmonix is). Unlike Dance Dance Revolution, it has a nifty little camera/sensor - no more getting your feet just so on the pad. It also takes into account whole body movement, not just feet. It is awesome and I can't wait til this fall when it comes out.

So now you know.

To be totally fair, we didn't develop the camera/sensor bit -- that's a thing Microsoft built which has now been dubbed Kinect, and it's their big thing for this holiday season. What we have done is built the first must-have game for the new hardware. :)

I'll have to send you a link to the announcment demo once it's easily accessible later. It was awesome, and the audience loved it.

I've been following @FeliciaDay's tweets at E3. She apparently got to try it. (http://twitter.com/feliciaday/status/16114838331) unless there is another "dance game" coming out for Natal, er, Kinect.

Is it March yet? :D

I saw the reports on the MSFT announcement at E3 but no games were listed.
